Yesterday I represented a Buyer who closed on 1183 Hampton Park Lane in Richmond Heights. Hampton Park is located at Hanley and Clayton Roads and is one of the prettiest neighborhoods in the city. Each home is unique and sits on a large parcel of land. Driving through the neighborhood is like driving through a park. This house has sat untouched and is pretty much in its original state. Although the house is in need of a major renovation, it bones are strong. All of the inspectors said that the house is build like a "battleship". I think I would rather buy a house like this rather than one which has undergone bad renovations from the 80's. I won't talk price, though the house was bank-owned and the Buyers got it at a good price.
This poor, neglected house in Hampton Park was on the market for for almost a year. It is now bank-owned and I am happy to say that I have a buyer who has it under contract. We are in the process of giving the house a "complete physical" to see what shape it is in. Cross your fingers...it really is a beautiful house and I can't wait to see it brought back to its original splendor. I will update you on what happens late in October.
I was in a couple houses in Lake Forest the other day....and it was not the one featured yesterday covered in ivy. When I think of Lake Forest homes I know that there is a good chance that the house will have great terrazzo floors and fun basement recreation rooms. The houses I was in yesterday were no exception.
