I love this idea of drilling holes in your fence and sticking marbles in the holes to catch the light. HERE are some other ideas on how to make your yard cool this summer. Some of them seem a little far-fetched.
There is nothing worse than seeing a "Home Depot" door on a stylish Mid-century home. You know what I am talking about the metal doors with an oval, leaded glass window in the middle. Check out these doors from Simpson Doors.
The other day I had the treat to see William Shearburn's new gallery located on the first level of the Dorchester at 665 S. Skinker. Philip Durham of Studio Durham designed the new space. It is gorgeous with views of Forest Park. See more on Studio Durham's site: HERE. Check out William Shearburn Gallery's site: HERE
Yesterday I felt a little likes Downton Abbey during the war years. I was ironing table cloths and napkins, polishing silver and cooking all day. Where was my staff? It is hard being upstairs and downstairs....though I do live in a ranch on a slab....so I guess this is the way it has to be! Oh well everything looked beautiful.
Christmas pants were in full swing.....as were mustaches.
My ex-wife sent over some yummy pasteries from Piccione Bakery on Delmar. They were so good. We received some of their other pasteries at the office this week from Town & Style Magazine and they were amazing!

Last night was Urbanaire to benefit PROMO. I was the honorary chair with the St Louis Post Dispatch's lovely Debra Bass. The event was sold out and has come to be one of the hottest tickets of the year. The event was held at the Contemporary Art Museum.
I still have some things to finish in my Living Room, though it is coming together. I have ordered an Asian-motif rug from Stark and an going to have two side chairs redone...oh and I almost forgot....my designer, David Deatherage of Century Design tracked down a wonderful Paul McCobb cocktail table in Pittsburgh that is making its way to St. Louis for me.
The pictures below show the evolution of this room.
This is an early picture of this room when William Bernoudy was a bachelor and his mother was living with him.
This is the picture from the Bernoudy book and was taken after Bill Bernoudy had passed away and his wife, Gertrude, commissioned the book to be written.
I remember One Memorial Drive well when it was KMOX's headquarter's. My ex-wife's father was Robert Hyland who ran KMOX in its heyday. The old KMOX space (they moved to the Park Pacific building) has been white-boxed and is ready for a new tenant. This includes the whole terrace...which is enormous and looks over The Arch grounds. There are 22,000 sq ft still available.
Check out the exciting new office spaces for ShipWorks on the 20th floor. This has to be the coolest office space in St.Louis. Alan Nehring was the architect.

Check out this stylish Townhome in the Shaw neighborhood owned by a friend of mine. I love the mask from the Chinese Light festival from the Garden. He also has a great collection of art all from local St. Louis artist.
