I was in a Parkview home recently and took some pictures of the cool furniture. The house is for sale, though the furniture is not at this time.
Everything just seems to grow better out at the farm. I have these same plants in my garden in University City...they look good, though not this robust! The red flower is Bee Balm or Monarda. The white flower is Gooseneck Loosestrife. Both are pretty invasive...so give them room!
This week a showed a home in Davis Place that was another of these rare finds where the house had never been updated. You should have seen the two boat-sized Cadillacs in the garage. I check in the driver's seat of one and their was a Post Dispatch from 1987. Here is a picture of the top-load dishwasher in the kitchen.

When I first bought my ranch home, I was newly divorced and bought it more out of affordability rather than loving Mid-century ranch homes. I was raised in a two-story pillared Ladue home. My first home was a Dutch Colonial in Glendale and while I was married we lived in a charming two-story home in Richmond Heights off of McKnight. Last night my son and I went to dinner at Mad Tomato in Clayton located at 8000 Carondelet. Mad Tomato is the creation of the same people who brought you Onesto's. The food was good and the service was attentive. This is a moderately-priced restaurant, though our bill with tip was still $100. Of course, we had an appetizer...I had two glasses of wine...my son had this amazing lemonade with basil....two entrees....and we shared cannolis for dessert...pictured below.
