The Shanley Building (1935)
Location: 7800 Maryland Avenue
Clayton, MO 63105
"Harris Armstrong designed this office building which was commissioned by the orthodontist Dr. Leo M. Shanley. The Shanley building was the first expression of the International style in this part of the country. Its design won Armstrong a silver medal at the Paris Exposition of 1937."
Check the blog tomorrow for a pictures of the house Harris Armstrong lived in himself.

Thanks for posting this entry on the Shanley Building. Do you know if the building is vacant? The last time I was there it seemed to be available for rent.
Also, I'm curious which of the three Armstrong homes will be on the market:

Andrew,
Thank you for mentioning my name to the owners of 3 Sappington Spur. They found me through my blog and you!
It looks like one of the offices is occupied in the Shanley building, though it is mostly vacant. It needs to be indefinitely preserved as a museum....maybe a showplace for St. Louis architects.
