Last night I went to see the burlesque show at the Atomic Cowboy's expanded annex....The Fox Hole. Lola van Ella's Bon Bons Burlesque Revue was certainly in top performance and delighted the crowd. The next show is September 26th...I think there will be one at 9 PM and 11 PM.

The San Luis building on Lindell is now fenced off and there are some evil, dinosaur-looking machines that are nearby ready to start taking the structure down.

An Afternoon at the Garden

Yesterday I was near the Missouri Botanical Garden and realized that I have not been there at all this year.  I had to do a quick lap since I got there at 4:30 PM and it closes at 5 PM. So much to see!

The Garden is big into Papyrus this year.



By now you should have been down to the City Garden and appreciated all of the wonderful sculptures loaned by the Gateway Foundation.  They also loaned the adored Milles sculptures in the Lilly Ponds.

Trompe L'oeil

Old Post Office Plaza

Another exciting addition to downtown St. Louis that recently opened is the Old Post Office Plaza.  You keep thinking to yourself....am I in St.Louis or visiting some other city!

A bonus is the new Schnuck's due to also open near the Old Post office.

I think I could live downtown now.

Downtown St. Louis- City Garden

Last night I was invited for a movie night at a friend's loft downtown.  I thought this may be an ideal time to check out the new City Garden. It was exciting and remarkable.  What a great addition to our vibrant city! We all need to thank the Gateway Foundation for making this project happen.

Red Castor Bean

Am I the only person who has Queen Anne's Lace in my garden?  I love it,though it can become a weed. Believe it or not, it takes a couple of years for it to really start looking showy.

What to do today?.....Go Downtown

Wondering what to do today?  If I were you I would go downtown for a tour before the throngs of people for the All-star Game show up.  The City Gardens are now open and the city has gone out of its way to make sure that downtown is looking great! Hey...there is also a sidewalk sale!

I ran across these bathrooms located in a duplex on Delmar in U City.  You have to love them....though may not like them.

The Perfect Cheese Tray

Ok...my last pics from California....we went to this cute wine shop and they gave our group a special tasting.  I loved the wine,though the cheese plates were perfect.  This is the way to do a cheese tray for your next cocktail party.

More Dooley Creek Ranch

Here are some follow up pics from my stay at Dooley Creek Ranch in Mendocino County, CA.  Don't rush to book a room...it is a private ranch.

Today I spent part of the afternoon soaking at a little hot spring in one of the valleys.

This ranch has a main house and four small houses for sleeping quarters.

Each house has an indoor show and an outdoor one!

The valley oaks has moss that grow on them like Spanish moss.

Dooley Creek Ranch, Mendocino,CA

Dear Friends, Lewis and Greg, invited me to spend the weekend at their fabulous ranch about 2 hrs up from San Francisco.  They share the property with a few other investors.

Happy July 4th

Happy July 4th!  I am celebrating at the Dooley Creek Ranch in Mendocino, CA.  Today we had the fun activity of making tied-dyed patriotic tee shirts!

San Francisco Ferry Building

Today I am in San Francisco and had to visit the Ferry Building.  This is the ultimate farmer's market....everything you would ever want in local produce.

Seattle Dinner

Dinner last night in Seattle. Halibut.... Yum.

The bread came with olive oil butter and balsamic vinegar jam.

I think the name of the restaurant was Boca.
