What I am told is St. Louis' only Rocio Romero house is now for sale. Joel Svoboda of Remax has the house listed for $325,000 and it will be open March 1st from 1-3 PM. The house is located at 4827 Theiss Road which is near 55 and 270. Get more information here.
I can't imagine $325k. The kit is approximately $35k and for this Joe's lower-than-high-end finishes I would guess $130k. $75k for a finished basement...someone is trying to make a premium return here. Good luck in this market, buddy.

The house has now been reduced to $299K... we will see what happens. It's not the price that bothers me as much as the location and lot it was built on - so sad to see such a great house in such a dreary spot.
Ted, LOVE your blog.

This is a great price,we sold our home in Calif.for a little over 800,000. Our house was 1,050sf.,thats right! It was in Santa Cruz, not St.Louis!!! We are looking in the south of france and Portugal for land and will be putting up a Romero home.

Do you have recent pictures for this property? It looks really spacious. And the interior design is a plus.

I like the house. Since there's only 5 of us, I think it suit's us perfectly with my parents. I do have a question though, I wonder if the price is negotiable? Thanks for sharing. Nice post.

The pictures of the house from the inside is great. Efficient way to use natural source of energy by using glass walls. It saves energy and money as well. The furniture are designed well and not to mention the shinny floor.

I like the design of the kitchen, it provide enough amount sunlight that will brighten the area during daytime. It is a practical design and environmental friendly since it will help lower the consumption of electricity.

Right on the highway 55, not a worse lot that I could imagine for this place and home kit, which features numerous windows, what a shame to put this home on this awful lot.
1) Get two or three acres with some trees
2) Buy the hurricane model that can take the 150 mph winds, with all the Missouri storms, winds and tornados.
3) Finally, get another LV unit, to hook on, with a foyer package and garage unit, then you have my dream home. This is not more than 1500 sq ft, pretty tight, sitting on a gravel lot behind the highway noise wall for this price.
